Hey Scotty, I'm thinking about buying a 2005 F150 King Ranch that has 138,000 miles on it. It has had only 1 owner, no accidents and looks pristine inside and out. They are asking 10,000 for it. Is there anything about that year F150 I should be specifically looking out for? Thanks and I love your videos! - JTM
You can get an idea of reliability concerns here:

Tread carefully if it is equipped with the 3-valve "Triton" 5.4 V8:

I have a 2007 F-150 XLT with 180,000 miles on it now, and the 5.4L Triton V8. I bought it for $13k with 97k miles back in 2016. These 5.4L engines CAN run forever, but you need to change the oil every 3k miles and do spark plugs around every 60k. With that being said, try and get the price down a little, but they can be excellent trucks. I have had only cylinder misfires fixed and that has been the only mechanical issue I have had. Get a pre-purchase inspection and see if you can haggle the price down. Scotty has reviewed a 5.4L F-250 and he said they can be pretty reliable engines.
