Hello Scotty I have a 2016 F150 with a 5.0 Coyote engine with 98,300 miles. The girlfriend and I have been hearing a faint hoot noise almost every time we drive it. It doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold or driving or parked it still makes a hoot noise. I think it’s coming from the engine but cannot say for sure. I had one mechanic look at it and he couldn’t replicate the noise. No codes shown and ecm recently updated

Check your vacuum lines, a small leak might make noise but not affect the engine or trigger a code. (May show up in fuel trims.)
