2003 F150, 4wd, 5.4, 4r70w transmission, 132k miles, no codes, reverse is ok, fluid and filter changed a year ago.
My F150 will not engage any forward gear unless I blip the throttle to 1800 rpm then it slams into first gear.
The transmission shifts and drives normally after that, until I come to a stop then I have to blip the throttle again.
The only other transmission issue I've had was about a year ago the column linkage was loose and would sometimes slip out of drive.

Sounds like it is going out and needs replacement to me. I would have a shop that specializes in transmissions give it a test drive and tell you what they think, but that usually is not a good sign.
