Hi, i have a VW passat, b7, 2011 model, manual, 1.6 tdi, 77kw. And i have run into a problem with the fault code P008700. I had changed the sensor 2 times, and the same fault keeps reapeering. When the car start it doesn't appear, but after hitting 80 km/h the "spring" symbol apears and most of the cars engine power dissapears, but it is still drivable. After shutting it down it goas away and this keeps happening on and on. To try to fix this i had tried to change the fuel senson in the engine bay, but still the same problem, currrentlly while am typing this the fuel pump is beeing replaced, so that might fix it, but am not sure. If it isn't the fuel pump that is the problem, what could the problem be? I would really appreciate your help.
If you do an internet search on that code you'll find a number of discussions and videos about it. However since it indicates a fuel pressure problem hopefully the pump will fix it. Really the pump should have been tested before committing to replacement. There might be a problem elsewhere in the fuel system. Since the fuel pump is already in the process of being replaced see how that turns out before diving deeper.
