Faulty ignition coil or transmission issues

I have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee sport, 4 cylinder automatic 87,000 miles. It started jerking forward when accelerating as it switched gears. In about a week of it happening, the car started to have misfires. I took it to the dealership to get a diagnostic done. Since there were no codes on the dash. They said it was a faulty ignition coil and recommended the spark plugs be replaced. All 4 coils and spark plugs were replaced. The misfires stoped but the jerking forward is still happening every so often. Could it be a transmission problem. Any information to get to the bottom of this issue helps.

It's not unusual for cars to have two unrelated problem. I would think that jerky shifts are a transmission problem. What's your transmission fluid look like? Dark or burnt? Has the trans ever had the fluid drained and refilled with fresh.

The way to get a definitive diagnosis, you need to do is get somebody to hook up a high end scanning tool to see what the transmission is doing. Scotty demonstrates that in a number of his recent videos.

Yes. Take it to a transmission expert for diagnosis.
