Wife has a 15’ Fusion SE, 85k miles, w/ the (ugh) ecoboost engine. KBBs for ~12k, but haven’t had any bites from private sale in the past.. May have to sell to dealer at this rate..
That being said, most used Camrys around me are >100k miles at 15k+!! Would it be worth biting the bullet & paying a few K more for a Camry or waiting it out w/ the Ford? Would also consider buying new at these inflated prices.
Thanks to all!
I would get a Camry. Just make sure you choose a good model year with maintenance records.
The way things are going, I don't see prices going down at all. I'd bite the bullet and get the Camry.
Given the current market I'm constantly hearing people getting very good money for their used cars either private party or since you said you haven't had anyone private party come forward for the car you might want to get a quote from places like Carvana, Carmax, etc. Then sell it for the highest price offered and get a Camry. The reason I am suggesting this is because you can get a lot more for your Fusion now compared to normal times and if you're open to buying new you can get a Camry at worst case msrp based on how well you can negotiate the price. And I just think new is better because used car prices are too high (like you said a Camry with over 100k miles being $15k and up).
Go ahead and trade it in, you will get more trade-in value.
When the supply is going back to normal, the purchase price of the car is not going to drop but the trade in value will.
I would get the Camry. You may be surprised what your Fusion will be worth on trade in the current market.
