Hoping all is well, Folks: I have a strange issue with my 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3.1L V6. Recently, the car was hesitating while idling. I poured a bottle of Sea Foam concentrated fuel injector cleaner in a full tank of gas and got really worst as it hesitated, lost acceleration and the fumes smelled like sulfur (like a bad cat converter). I put the car away pending an appointment with a mechanic. Pulled it this morning and it is all back to normal in terms of performance and acceleration while driving. No hesitation whatsoever. However, when stopped and, whether on neutral or park, when I floored it, it would not accelerate past 4K RPMs and goes into high low revs while I keep accelerator fully pressed. Is this normal or it is coming down with something? Please advise and my appreciation for your responses. Thanks and regards!

sounds like bad cat. But you're bound to have some vacuum leaks at this age too.
I think you were right and have a bad cat converter. Better not cancel that appointment.
Thank you all for your responses; I am keeping the appointment.
