First car?

Hey Scooty. For my first car, I am thinking of a dodge dart, Mazda rx8, Toyota Celica or toyota corolla xrs. After watching a lot of your videos I am leaning towards the Celica. The only reason that I am not sure about getting the Celica is that I am scared it won't have enough power for my liking. Whichever car I end up getting would be in Manuel.

Forget the Dodge Dart, it's junk. (I assume you mean the recent Fiat product, not the classic Dart of the 1960s and 1970s.)

RX8... well, I don't know if getting involved with a wankel engine is the best idea in the world for reliability and ease of servicing if you're concerned about those issues. Maybe someone experienced with Mazda rotary engines can chime in.

A Toyota would be an excellent choice. Find a Celica you like and give it a test drive to see if you like the way it drives. Have a mechanic check it out before buying.

Assuming it is before the year 2000 model year (for the celica) of course.

Dart is junk. RX-8 is more junk.

The Celica is extremly good IF YOU GET ONE BEFORE MODEL YEAR 2000. The newer generation had a yamaha engine which is really really bad that is why they are priced cheap stay away from those Scotty has a 90's one.

The Corolla XRS is an amazing car like a Lotus and is very reliable but skip the 2009 model year because the 2.4 in that specific trim and model year have piston ring and oil issues (I know from personal experience), the other years are good. I would also consider a 2011-2012 Corolla S because of the refreshed interior.

Hope this helps!

Yes, stay away from the dart. The dart is cute and that’s it.I have a 2013 avenger and it’s very reliable if you really want a dodge you should get that one. You also can’t go wrong with the Toyota either.
