Hey Scotty,
I’am looking at a 2016 Mazda 6 with 104,950 Miles for $7,500. Is that too high of a mileage? Would I get another 1k+ miles out of that car? Or am I wasting my money. How reliable is the Mazda 6? I see mixed reviews but more positive than negative. I don’t like the look of a Honda or Toyota I would prefer not to buy. I have my eye on the Mazda 6. Please help me out
Toyota and Mazda partnered back in 2015. Those newer Mazdas are good cars. They used to have lots of Ford and Nissan parts and generally would fall apart after 150k miles but the newer ones are much better made because they are made by Mazda.
The price is actually decent if its been taken care of (determined with a pre-purchase inspection and service records) then it could be a good first car. Don't expect 300k+ miles out of it but it should last 150-200k miles easily in the ideal scenarios.
The Mazda 3/6 is definitely very nice to drive compared to Toyota/Honda as well so thats a plus.
Scotty has many videos on modern (2014+) Mazdas go check them out as well.
Those are good cars. They can go 150K+ miles trouble free. Get a trusted mechanic to thoroughly inspect that Mazda before you give the seller any money. If it's in good condition and it was well taken care of, that should be a great 1st car.
Thank You! I will definitely have a mechanic check it out. It’s actually coming from a dealership but I’ve heard many stories of dealership scams, so I’ll still have it checked out.
