Hi,

i have a mazda 3 2008. I have issue with flickering dash board lights and its showing high voltage. Just changed new alternator but still showing high voltage. It keeps on showing brake lights on and off in dashboard. No change in the performance but has problem with flickering lights. Can you please suggest what could be the issue?

my old alternator was showing high voltage and had to change to new one still no difference it still showing same voltage as before.

Your alternator output is probably controlled by the ECU rather than a separate or built-in voltage regulator. A professional-grade bidirectional scan tool would be required for diagnosis.

Well Numero Uno have a real pro check the charging system because high voltage generally is a problem with the alternator itself. Lots of guys. Don't know how to check them correctly. Pat, if the alternator is indeed correct, then have the battery load tested because a battery that's going out will force the alternator to overcharge it.

@scottykilmer well my old alternator was showing high voltage and had to change to new one still no difference it still showing same voltage as before.
