Fluid changes?

Hey Scotty, I just purchased a 2005 Nissan altima 3.5 se with 100,000 miles on it. I am aware of the terrible cvt transmission, but, I got it for 1000 bucks from a family friend. I went to nissan to change the oil, and they told me that I need to change the trans fluid and the power steering fluid. Assuming that neither of those have been changed, should I do it? Both are pretty dark and the power steering smells like its burnt. I would also not do it at the dealership, id do it myself. Assuming that they are right what do you think? I would like to have it for some time as it won't be driven much, and then sell it so I'm not really just trying to drive it until it dies. Let me know what you think Thanks! Thanks!

It's time to do it alright. I wouldn't flush the trans fluid, but drain and fill it. Likely it hasn't been done before.

Just make sure you use correct the correct fluid for the transmission.

Thanks! I'll go ahead and get at it
