Focus RS Trade In For Rav4 Prime

I have a 2016 Focus RS. This has been a good car and is fun to drive but I catch myself never wanting to drive it because of gas prices and putting miles on it. I am also worried about reliability with this car. Though I have kept it completely stock. My wife has a 2021 Tesla model 3 that we took ownership of early this year. I will say I love driving it more than my RS. So I was looking to trade in my RS for a an electric car but I do not want two electric vehicles as sometimes we take long trips and don't have time to stop and charge but also want to be able to say pull a seadoo. So I found a 2021 Rav4 Prime which is kind of this best of both worlds. I am able to get this at msrp and Toyota offered me 30k for my car which has 37k miles. Is this a good deal? Do you think I am making the right choice trading this in for a Rav4?

Thanks

Clarification: How many years and miles do you need the RAV4 Prime (a hybrid) to last you?

Well I clearly do want a reliable vehicle. More then likely I will probably keep it for at least 5 years and see what the electric market looks like at that time. I also forgot to mention the tax credit is important for me this year.

Hybrids are very expensive to maintain when they get older. You should be OK with the RAV4 for 5 years, probably more than that as Toyota has the best hybrid system. As far as tax credits, I can't speak to that, the way I see it is if the technology was really better there would be no need to bribe people to buy into it. 😉
