Anyone ever make some kind off fixture that bounces a car to find squeaks and rattles without driving down the road? I’m thinking of an electric motor driving a set of rollers, one with an out of balance roller to vibrate the car one corner at a time. I remember some truck places used to balance tires on the vehicle with some motor driven roller. I can’t seem to find any place that still has one of those.
Years ago the state of NJ used a machine like that in its state-operated inspection stations, they'd bounce front tires up and down and the device would "listen" for loose components. Although I was skeptical it found a loose nut on the idler arm of the AMC Hornet I was driving at the time. (It was a long time ago but as I recall the cotter pin had rusted away.)
