Hello Scotty, I have a 2011 Ford Ranger with 62000 KM on the engine. I have a friend with the same year truck and she lost the engine at 132000 KM due to a timing change failure. My understanding this engine is notorious for timing chain failures. Is there any preventive measures that I could take to prevent this from happening?
Ford 4 liter
Change oil and filter frequently.

according to wikipedia, it was only a big problem before 2002

But if you're worried, then just install the best cassette and tensioner money can buy. Unfortunately, I think that means removing the engine thanks to Ford's ingenious design.
