So Im in the market for a new to me but used truck. I know that the ford 5.4 3 valves are engines to stay away from, my question is are the 2 and 4 valve 5.4 motors good or are they just as problematic as the 3 valves?

I have an 05 with the 5.4 V8 I love mine. I’ve only replace an alternator which was easy I’m just about to 160,000. Ik spark plugs can be a problem but I haven’t had any myself

Honestly I hate all of the triton motors. My uncle swears by them even with the spark plugs being blown out and all. I think I would save up for the 6.0 diesel before I bought a triton... even with the head gasket issues of the 6.0
