hey ! i got a ford econoline 1981 and it was running great until it decided not to start with a key. So, when i turn the key, nothing happen. No power to radio or flashers. I can start the car if i bypass the solenoid but it's quite annoying. Im trying to figure out the problem but seems like i can't find it, help !

check starting fuses and relays.

I'd pick one of those circuits and troubleshoot it.

I think you have that old 3 post starter solenoid/relay. The small threaded post gets battery power from the ignition switch in the Start position.

Pull that wire off and grab a test light.

Have somebody hold the Key on START as you check for battery voltage on that wire that goes to that "S" terminal on the relay.

I think the way those were wired back then is that the wire goes from the ignition switch, through the Park/Neutral safety switch, to that "S" terminal so if you aren't getting power in START there, go down to the Neutral safety switch and check it out

Check your ignition switch.

Yea sounds like the ignition switch as well. Also check all your major grounds for corrosion, shes a 40 year old girl!!!
