I am looking at a couple Explorers, one is a 2012 XLT FWD 3.5L V6 6 speed auto with select shift, 91,305 mi. and the other is a 2013 XLT 3.5L V6 6 speed auto with select shift, 112,543 mi. they want $13, 626 for the 2012 and $13,200 for the 2013..is there any reason to not buy either of them? I am in need of some expert opinions! Thank you for any help you can give me.

I would go for the one with the lower mileage but I would try to pay less they don't have such hot resale value really

I really wouldn’t buy either of those for a long term vehicle. The 3.5l V6 is not going to hold up for long term.

It would be better to get a Rav4 or Highlander, but like Scotty said, if you want on get the one with the lower mileage for a lower price.

The 3.5L V6 engine in those has the water pump driven off a timing chain so to get to it you have to take apart the engine.  Not only that but if the water pump fails it can take out the whole engine with it.  It’s a poor design by Ford (and a costly one when the water pump eventually goes on you) - I would stay away from those!  See at 10:30 below from master mechanic Car Wizard:
