I have a 2003 Ford explorer V6 4x4 automatic with 200,000 miles. The vehicle was gifted to me. Is it worth putting a rebuilt transmission in it? Cost for the transmission $3000 the previous owner said he hasn't had any other problems with the vehicle.

Those transmissions were never made well even if you put a brand new one it is questionable how long it would last.
They are cheap vehicles you should be able to find a replacement for cheaper than rebuilding a transmission

the vehicle is worth between 3000 to 3500. The transmission won't go into gear. No front or reverse. The repair shop said it's dead.
