Scotty, I got a 2008 Ford Explorer with only 152k miles. She drives all day but late in the day when the car is hot it'll just die. She moves it into neutral it starts right up but now its doing it every mile. I used a FIXD scanner and there's 2 codes. P1000 and P2135. The second one makes sense. Throttle/peddle position sensor/switch/A-B Voltage correlation. What do I tell the Mechanic? Been watching for years, love your stuff!

There are a lot of possibilities for that kind of malfunction. Have you checked live data for clues? It would be especially interesting to record a snapshot of data when the problem occurs. (The "FIXD" is a very cheaply made, very low-end scanner with advertising that sounds like a snake-oil salesman's pitch. Not sure how much flexibility it has for doing diagnostics.)
However if you are going to have a shop work on it they should be able to do their own analysis using a professional-grade scan tool.
What do I tell the Mechanic?
Problems with your car and codes. If as good as Scotty, he will know what to do
