I have a 2012 ford focus. It has the 1.6 Duratech engine with 5 speed Manual.

my rev counter aka tachometer is no longer working? Could this be a battery issue or a speed sensor?

Connect a simple OBD2 scanner and see if the RPM filed changes correctly - most likely it does.

I’d assume it’s an issue with the gauge cluster or wiring.

With a better scanner you probably can go and view the data stream for the cluster and look for hints on wether it reads the RPM correctly and isn’t displaying it cause of a fault with the gauge.

Thank you so much for your help.
