Hello Scotty, I have a 2004 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6L. Its has 270k.  I'm the original owner.  It is putting out code B1600. (PATS). I've been able the by pass it a few time ,but now I can't do that. I have both sets of the original keys. Any suggestions?

Thanks ,

Well it's stupid passive anti-theft system they've always had problems with them in many Fords. You're either going to have to pay a mechanic and have it towed or a locksmith who often charges less and will make a house call. Now I have seen guys bypass some permanently with kits with computer nerds there's always a want to and a way if you Google it you'll see there are kits out there that you can install on your own car

Thanks Scotty, Funny, I haven't tried to start it in a week. I tried it after I emailed you and it started right up like there was never anything wrong with it 😆. But I'll call a locksmith. Thanks again. Love your videos, keep them coming.

I took original keys to locksmith.  He made me new keys.  All was well.  Fast and easy.  Thank God for hardware stores.

@jimz
Any issues since then?

@jimz
Oh by the way. Thanks for the info

No. All has been well.

My problem was I damaged the key so the part of the PATS on the car was known to not be the problem. I knew I needed a key and Dealers wanted lots to do it. Someone said get new key for less at hardware store, and that fixed it.

Do you have one good key?  It can be used to make a new key.

The B1600 is a bad key code so finding a new key should fix you.

@jimz
I've had on and off issues with both keys. .

A new key will be the cheaper solution, if it works. Maybe the locksmith can tell if keys are broken.

@jimz
Thanks
