Hi Scotty,
My name is James and I’m from Australia.
Love looking at your video content and since watching your videos it has really shown me that you really need to do your research before buying a car.
I drive a VE series 3 Maloo Hsv R8 and I have had it since new and it has 140,000 km and it is one of 1601 built
I’m looking at buying a new car because I will be looking at garaging the Maloo as the prices here have started to skyrocket on these cars and I don’t want to put to many km on it.
I am looking at the new ford ranger raptor. It has the new 3.0 twin turbo petrol engine.
From my understanding this motor was in the 2017-2020 Lincoln MKZ,
2017-2020 Lincoln Continental
2020 Ford Explorer Platinum
2021+ Ford Explorer ST
2021+ Lincoln Aviator / Aviator Hybrid in the US
It shows that the common problems in these cars are
- Carbon build-up
- Oil pan leaks
- Ignition system
What are your thought on this engine?
It looks like Toyota might bring out the new Hilux with the new 3.5 twin turbo petrol engine. (I think the new tundra has this engine)
But that would be a year or 2 away.
Thanks
I would not consider the ranger. Stick to Toyota, preferably with naturally aspirated engines. Even a Toyota with turbo engine is much better than Ford.
Ford has now become the King of the Recalls if you don't count Tesla which has had every single car it has ever made recalled for something. I would not be interested in any Ford product as they are now on a par with Hyundai and Kia, IMO.
