- Hey scotty does the transmission need to come out on a 2012 fusion 4cyl to replace the shift control cable I seen YouTube videos of 2013 and newer models where it doesn't have to come out and if it does have to come out should I replace the gasket between the transmission and motor and will the transmission need to be reprogrammed

No, it does not. Check your other post. The dealer you took the car is ripping you off. Find an honest independent mechanic to do it.
