I'm looking at buying used RV for some long term extended travel. I plan to travel and live in it for a year. I've read there are certain years to avoid due to spark plugs blowing out or threads going bad etc. I certainly do not want those troubles. Also like an opinion for a reliable engine to look for, any auto manufacturer. Looking at perhaps 24 to 29 foot RV. I would consider Diesel engine too. Any recommendation?
I'm not that big of an RV guy but you want a diesel engine definitely because the gasoline ones are absolute gas hogs where the diesels can get two to three times better gas mileage.
I agree diesel is a better choice. I am looking at used so a diesel may or may not be a choice. I'm planning to roam a bit. Looking to actually live in it for a year. I'm concerned about the spark plug issue some earlier Ford engines had. I think years 2000-2006 or something like that.
