I plan on buying a freightliner sprinter. The most ill ever carry payload wise is 4000 ibs. The 2020 models come in either a gas engine or a deisel engine for the 4500 ibs model (i wanna leave a decent payload margin). Which engine should I get? Which is more reliable.

Freightliner is made by Daimler (formerly of Daimler-Chrysler). Their diesel engines are decent. However, the long-term cost of ownership in a diesel, particularly if you do not need the extra power/payload it helps you achieve, makes it cost prohibitive in my opinion.
