2015 chevy caprice 145k miles auto trans (no codes detected)- had alignment checked-shop said good, within specs. then shop claimed the electronic steering rack was to blame (there is no leaks). they didn't even road test the vehicle! is this possible? thank you for your time...

There are no codes for suspension or tire problems. (Except perhaps for luxury vehicles with active electronic suspension systems.)

Electronic power steering does not use power steering fluid.

If there is a problem with the electronic power steering a shop that is good at diagnosis should be able to find that out with a professional-grade scan tool,

Defective tires can have the effect of pulling to one side. How old are they? You could try rotating the tires front to back to see if anything changes.

EPS is powered differently but it still has linkage that wears https://www.theengineerspost.com/electric-power-steering/

 Get a second opinion.
