I have a 2019 Kia optima fe with 101,754 miles. The check forward collision avoidance system, abs, traction control, and check blinker lights have came on. I took it to the dealership and they told me they found a code for c240201 for motor failure on hecu. I was told it would be $3400 to fix and retest to see if that’s the problem. I was wondering if there is another way to go about this rather than paying that amount of money? Does this seem accurate? Can I buy the part and get it replaced by someone else for cheaper?
The dealer is always the most expensive option. Unless you need warranty or recall repairs it would be best to find a good independent local shop that will actually do a proper diagnosis. (Dealer shops rarely do that. They specialize in changing out parts as quick and expensive as possible rather than doing in-depth diagnosis.)
