1996 3.1 lumina 115,784 mi backing up, car dies turns over good & does'nt start "nothing"? engine fires for a half sec. tank says half & seemed tobe working?

Try spraying starting fluid into it. More troubleshooting in the FAQ

Fuel filter, fuel pump.
Turns out tobe the transpomder "which is part of fuel pump assemble right & will be replaced as a complete unit? astro here.
