My fuel gauge is always showing empty fuel.
If i top up more than 1/4 tank of fuel, then it starts to work again.
As soon as it drops less than 1/4 tank of fuel, the fuel gauge reading drops down to zero.
I replaced the fuel pump assembly and including the sender unit (2nd hand).
And even then it doesn't work.
Is there a re calibration that needs to be done?
I checked all the fuses and did a multimeter test on the plug wires and nothing wrong.
The car is a diesel.
2012 kia sorento diesel 2.2L
Has 620,000 km

Well I'm assuming your dash unit is bad inside the dash either that or the wiring's going but only the dash unit is going to make it go up and down like that. If the wiring was bad it will either stay full all the time or empty all the time
