Hi Scotty , I am looking for a new or used car hopefully 30k or so but don't know what to concider because I used to own a 2001 Jaguar xk convertible and loved the way it drove, and looked. It was nimble, fast, comfortable & steering was great on winding road however it was constantly breaking down. You name it, it broke and more. It almost didn't seem possible for a car to be so bad. I didn't have a warantee or mechanical skills & It was emotionally and financially exhausting. I finally took a big loss and dumped it. Then I bought a 2006 bmw 330ci conv. But I never loved the car and it was not comfortable. It was nice and fun but didn't thrill me to drive. Are there other convertibles or else hard tops that you could recommend that will drive/feel similar to a jag xk preferably with modern technology? Or what about an 08 or newer xk with a warantee . Will it still be a nightmare ?
Hy!
I advise you not to think about newer BMWs. Lexus is a better option if you live in North America.
Good luck!
Well I'd opt for a Mercedes SLC or SLK, just make sure whichever one you buy it's Vin starts with a W bc that means it's made in Germany and not notoriously bad as the American ones
Or you could turbo a miata, that's fun too
how about amercan iron from the 60's and 70's?
Not everyone is prepared to deal with the needs of a vintage car. Having said that I have a Rambler convertible and have a lot of fun with it.
370Z. V6 naturally aspirated bullet proof engine, fun to drive, not expensive to fix in general, good steering, raw, reliable. The convertible top can be expensive to repair if any issues. The coupe is a better choice IMO.
Some people dont like looks of convertible
Thanks for all the great advise
