fuse on 2009 toyota camry

Hello,

I have a 2009 Toyota Camry which is at 75,850 miles. Last month, the cigarette lighter under the dashboard went out, so now I'm down to the one in the center console. I need to get the second one to work again as I plan on buying a radar detector soon. Does anyone know what kind of fuse the cigarette lighters take and how to check if a fuse itself is blown? If it's something other than a blown fuse, it will probably be outside my level of skill if it involves more than taking off the dashboard. Thank you!

Your owners manual should explain about the fuse box location, which fuse is for the cigarette lighter and what size. You can check it by removing the fuse and looking to see if the link is in tact or not. If you can't tell just replace it with a known good fuse of the same size. It doesn't sound like performing a continuity test is in your play book. Good luck.
