2004 Infiniti G35 coupe 6MT 58,000 miles
I like right outside Portland Oregon and last weekend we almost hit 120 degrees. Drove my car 5 miles through town to the store. I come out and turn the car over and immediately my car has a huge plume of steam coming from under the hood. Under the hood is Freon everywhere and a blown A/C high pressure line. I thought it was coolant at first so I immediately shut the car down and towed it to the dealer. They want $200 for the part + 100 in oil and Freon. Labor included over $800. I’ll shop around for a better price if I can but is my car safe to drive without ruining the rest of the a/c system? The dealer told me I could have driven the car and if I put off fixing the issue it will slowly damage the rest of my system costing even more in repairs. If this is true how would it cause more damage and how long would it take to cause damage?
Go somewhere else I really ripping you off but the problem is if your hose blew there's no air and air water vapor in your system which eventually will destroy it you need to seal the leak at least with tape so that that can intrude while you're waiting
