2004 Elantra has been having really bad gas mileage for the past week, an unprecedented occurence. We took it on the highway, 2 hours round-trip, and the result was 14 mpg. My daughter uses this car to commute to school. She drives normally, carrying no extra weight, tires properly inflated.
How can we get the economy figures to get back to normal? Please help. If nothing helps, should I sell the car for scrap?
2004 Hyundai Elantra, 2.0 DOHC MPFI 16-valve 4-cyl engine, 147 998 miles
