Hey Scotty
How high will gas prices go?
It seems OPEC, greenies & government’s are to blame.
God help us.
Kind regards from downunder.
I heard in California the gas prices there are $8.00 a gallon. They will only get higher from now because the government wants us all to drive net-zero vehicles (ex. Tesla and Chevy Bolt) for environmental reasons.
You can expect things to get worse after the United Nations ManBearPig conference in Scotland next week, as world "leaders" get together to figure out more ways to put the screws to us.
They'll keep going up until supply matches demand. OPEC+ is only adding 400,000 barrels extra per month in increased production, it isn't matching demand growth well. They've also said numerous times in the past $100 a barrel for oil is a "fair" price, which leads me to believe that's probably where it stops. Add to that the blatant hostility of the U.S. administration to domestically sourced fossil fuels, which is forcing Americans to buy more foreign oil. That makes oil more expensive for everyone else, since the U.S. currently consumes more oil than any other country, but I believe China is catching up.
There's been some talk about developing a synthetic fuel. Formula 1 is reported to be pursuing this and if successful it'll be available to the rest of us. That could put a real crimp into OPEC especially since it's suppose to be renewable. It's suppose to have a net zero "carbon footprint" that hopefully will get the enviro-nazis to shut up. There are other alternatives such as hydrogen fuel cells that's being pursued also.
Those things were being pursued over 30 years ago when I was working on laboratory automation software at one of the major oil companies. Cost was always the major obstacle. Hopefully some progress is being made.
I think oil is renewable. We will never run out.
So what is this "synthetic" stuff and what is made of? This outta be good.
Back in the day it was mostly about making gasoline from other hydrocarbon sources such as coal. Not sure what current efforts are focused on.
It's up to $3.20 for 87 octane in western Nebraska. That's at a Sinclair gas station. Some other local stations are higher. There is one place that is lower but it's not a top tier gasoline.
Has here on Connecticut is around $3.50 a gallon for regular. That's in the NYC Metro Area
crude oil prices have actually been pretty good since North America started prioritizing energy independence. And they're expected to go down.
Gasoline prices, however are terrible and will rise, because politicians will take more of your money to redistribute to their buddies.

Where i live in CA (south bay area) gas price avg is about $4.50 for 87.
That's crazy. Makes me glad I live in Ohio, gas was $2.95 on my way to work this afternoon, lol. California cost of living is insane!
