Hi Scotty!
I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini XR-II, 4X4, non-turbo, manual transmission with currently 46,014 miles on it. It is a right hand drive from Japan imported to Guam, bought it $5.5K with 43,972 miles on it.
I’m currently having a problem with my vehicle having very low idle if I haven’t ran the engine for a long while. Once I crank the engine is running the idle will be so low the engine will sputter and die off. But after driving it around and then turning the engine on again the engine will be at the correct idle, it’s just when it’s been sitting for a day or two.
Since I’ve gotten the vehicle I have done a full maintenance from Engine Oil & Oil filter change, NGK R DCPR7E spark plugs, flushed out the cooling system with distilled water & Prestone Radiator Flush + Cleaner about 4 times, flushed out the old brake fluid, inspect the rotors, pads and shoes and also clean and lubed the caliper slide pins, changed the front & rear differential oil, transmission and transfer case oil, and changed out the oil fuel filter.
I’ve been also using this very well known fuel system cleaner for a long time now every fill up, it is called RedLine: Complete Fuel System Cleaner SI-1 concentrated. I’ve been researching that this has the highest PEA content then other fuel system cleaners out there, so I’ve been hoping that it’ll clean out my fuel injectors but so far it just happens again after 1 or 2 days of sitting in the garage.
I would love to hear your thoughts and answers on this. I’m a huge fan in what you do as a automotive mechanic and your I try to watch all your YouTube videos.
I myself am a veteran in the US Army as 91B (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic), born and raised on Guam. I work on my own vehicle as much as I can with the tools that I have before ever resorting to a shop and I also try to help teach and advise others to work on they’re own vehicles for the easy level repairs and maintenance.
Take care and stay safe Scotty!
Try changing out you fuel filter and air filter and pcv valve.
