Acura 2008 Mdx alternator belt changed last month. Took back mechanic could not find nothing wrong with new belt. He said he put WD 40. I thought....YouTube said don't. I said nothing.
Now, every morning I get in SUV. There is a ticking sound. I drive 2 miles and ticking stops all day. Ride a little pull rough jumpy. Now, when I park get back in SUV ticking sound under the hood starts ticking more and more.
Took to a another shop this morning. No mechanic. The shop I went to only one mechanic and a 4 day wait. Small town. Finding mechanics is difficult.
Please any suggestions are more than greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!!

Taking sounds on those usually means the valves need to be adjusted start there
Dear Mr. Scotty Kilmer,
Thank you. There have been so many suggestions about the ticking sound since the alternator and belt were changed last month and then I noticed the ticking started.
One mechanic shop said the pulley belt tensioner. Saturday a mechanic shop said it is a normal sound and just moist air. I am glad you took time listen to the video I sent.
Do you know of a place in Covington ,TN. that can check out the SUV or adjust the valves?
Mr. Scotty Kilmer I am a K-12 substitute teacher in Covington, TN. I have a few days not assigned next or whatever you have available.
If I drive the 4 hours would be able to look at my SUV. If yes when are you available?
Thank you,
Gaye McCoy

Remove drive belt and see if sound goes away, that will answer a lot of questions.
If you didn't use a Denso OEM alternator, you'll be chasing your own tail very soon.
And wd-40 shouldn't be near the belts/pulleys.
Thank you!
