I have a 2017 Toyota Sienna. It uses a dual injection system. GDI and Port Injection. In GDI the gasoline does not flow over the back side of the intake valves. However in Port Injection the gasoline does flow over them, cleaning them.
So, because it is a dual system does the gasoline flow over the intake valves? Thus, using a GDI cleaner would be pointless?

Yes, IMHO, it would be pointless.

Your engine, the 2GR-FKS, is NOT known to have issues with carbon buildup - cleaning it is likely useless.
Check if your vehicle is under recall - they're recalling a lot of these for bad fuel pumps.
