Hey Scotty, I bought a 2004 Lexus ES330 based on your recommendation and I've been very happy with it. The only issue is that when I am using the automatic HVAC I need to set the temp up to at least 77 degrees in order to get any heat otherwise it blows cool or cold air even when the outside temp is relatively high 60s. Could it be the sunload sensor or something else? If so, is it DIY fixable?
Thanks,
Harry
Well, you could try the sun load sensor, but the only way you're going to really be sure is to find a guy like me with the dealer level scan tool to do bidirectional testing of the system. But for my experience a lot of them as the age will just do that. It's kind of a minor flaw and I wouldn't really worry about it unless you want to spend a lot of time and money tracing that baby down
