75k miles automatic 11 sonata limited
it’s gdi. I’ve called a few big company auto stores near me and all of them are saying they will clean it will the ats type cleaner Scotty suggest. But he also says it won’t clean behind the pistons with the liquids. What should I do to get behind the pistons cleaned?
it will ruin my engine in if I don’t get it cleaned yes?
Anywhere you know of where to get them cleaned as the liquids won’t get behind to clean them.
You need to find a shop that will do walnut-shell blasting.

yup. but maybe send a boroscope camera down there first to see if you even need it.
Where do people get such. Job done at?
You need to shop around for a mechanic that provides the service. Avoid dealers and chains shops like Pep Boys, Midas, Firestone, etc.
Mountainmanjoe linked a comment and gave me the idea to simply look up walnut blasting near me and I found one that’s a small shop.
Sounds good, however as he also said it would probably be a good idea to check whether the service is actually needed. (Though after 13 years and 75K miles chances are that it does.)
your pistons are fine (have a look through the spark plug hole if you want).
The problem with GDI engines is the valves and intake.
The way it's cleaned is induction cleaning and abrasive media blasting.
That’s what I mean haha i say pistons when I mean valves. Anywhere you know of where to get them cleaned as the liquids won’t get behind to clean them.
Thank you!!!!
