You'll have to ask a European on that they haven't sold citrons in the United States in many decades

Thank you scotty.
By the way, this may be a business opportunity of a life time. To open a Citroen dealership in the us, because Americans love french cars. What are your feelings on being a partner in a Citroen dealership ?

I don't see French cars ever taking off here in America.

They don't have a good reputation for quality at all.

Where do you get that Americans love French cars?

Renaults failed here cuz they were junk. The AMC Aliiace was crap.

Many French auto makes tried to sell cars here over the years and failed miserably,

Renault

Peought

Citroen

Well that was exactly my point, Americans just love french cars 😉😉
French car's are not junk they are engineered by the French for french use, taste and cultural preferences. Wich is very different from American or Japanese and etc.
In my opinion they failed because they are french and i will explain.
The french are a proud and well accomplished nation, and that effect their way of thinking. For example they don't like to speak english 'coz their french. If translated to an automotive company executives way of thinking. In the back of their mind they may say "why should we adapt to our target market, they should adapt to our car's".
Or we didn't fail because our products weren't adjusted for market they simply dont understand our way of thinking.
Corporations and Nations have emotional patterns, after all they are made of a certain human fabric.
That's my point of view on the soft sides of the french automotive industry.
