Hey scotty, Im looking into getting a 3rd gen firebird, got my eyes on the 86-87 year trans am (gta if i can find one)
But i wanted to know if they are really reliable after being a bit over 30 ish years old and what issues i should expect to deal with if i got one, since being that old im sure any flaws in its design should be showing by now and would have to be fixed
Anyways thanks in advance, and im sure that even if it has a ton of issues it still wouldnt be as big a waste of money as buying a pt cruiser
Well they are old cars. You have to be ready for just about anything to go wrong.
The electricals weren't very good, a GM calling card. Interior quality was also very subpar.
I'd only recommend it if you want a project weekend cruiser. For a daily, no way.
Try to find one with the 350 C.I. V8 and that has mostly restored. They go for around 5k to 7k if they're decent driving cars, but I wouldn't buy one that needs a lot of work.
