Hello Scotty!
I own a 97 Subaru Impreza 2.2l automatic (unfortunately;) with 75k original miles. Great, reliable little car. Unfortunately I find it mostly sitting in the driveway not having the time to enjoy it or the ability to do all the maintenance work myself.
Do you think I should sell it, especially now with car prices being thru the roof or keep it hoping that maybe it's value will increase with time. By the way I live in NYC so rust is not terrible but definitely there. What's your opinion on that?
Thanks a lot, love your channel.
If you need the money, sell the car.
If you need the car, keep the car.
If you want the car, keep the car.
If you like money more than the car, sell the car.
If you like the car more than you like money, keep the car.
A KaiZEN poem. The cars that appreciate in value are usually rare, pretty or fun to drive. Do you think a 97 Subaru is any of those?
Impreza’s have a cult following. Especially the bug eyed version.
It’s hard to predict the future.
Just my guess. With respect to cars like the 2JZ Supra, S2000, or the NSX, it probably won’t appreciate as much. But cars like a plain generic Civic or Corolla, it would probably hold its value over the long term.
And with cars like the neon, it will definitely out appreciate those kind of cars, imho.
