Hey Scotty and members,

When you drive where do you place your hands on the steering wheel?   I go for 3’oclock and 9’oclock.  I’d like to hear from y’all.

I'm trying to think ... and I don't even know. I would have to take special notice, because it has become such a subconscious action. I suspect my grip changers all over the wheel depending on what kind of driving I'm doing.

I'm old so I was taught 10 and 2.

But that was before airbags so now they say 9 and 3.

((10 and 2 makes you punch yourself in the face really hard when the airbag goes off))

I always did 10 and 2, but changed to 9 and 3 because of airbags. If you hands are at 10 and 2 and the airbag goes off, the airbag hits your arms and can make your hands and arms then collide with your face.

My 2017 Mustang oblongs at 10 and 2 so it's more comfortable to hold. I wonder it they tweaked the airbag or something.

I used to drive 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock always, but since I had brain cancer 8 months ago, I've only been driving with my right hand. I keep that one at 3 o'clock.

If I am on fairly decent highways, not mountains with lots of turn, normally 8 and 4, or 9 and 3.

If I am in the mountain twisties, it is usually 9 and 3, or 10 and 2.

If the steering wheel has bolstered sections, I hold them - they're usually at 10 and 2.

But on cars without them I hold 9 and 3.
