I saw a tiktoker use a SCISSOR jack and wonder if I could use that to jack up the car with the Jack STAND to go under it to change the Engine Oil???

the Trolley Jack I have is 48KG and I prefer something lighter.

Is there no issues with USIng a Scissor Jack to USE Jack stands under it and change the engine oil????

I’ve used a scissor jack to change tires but never to change oil.

I really don’t know if it would work or not. It would seem kinda hard to use the scissor jack and then place jack stands. I don’t think there is enough space on most cars jack notches to first use the jack then the jack stands on the same spot.

And using a scissor jack in the center of the car would be difficult because there is no leverage to get the jack up.

Even with jack stands, it seem a little cumbersome.

I don't know what a "tiktoker" is (someone who tokes tics?), but if you can get enough lift with the scissor jack to get the jack stands where they need to go I don't see where it would be a problem. A hydraulic jack is a heck of a lot easier to use though, ramps easier yet.

Of course you can. I used scissor jacks for years. All my vehicles were supplied with a scissor jack by the manufacturer, including the current one.

They're a bit more of a pain to use, and they're not terribly sturdy, but as you say they're light and the lift range is decent, which makes them great for carrying around in the trunk for emergencies.

If yours has a hex head on the screw drive, you can even use power tools to go up and down.

Obviously , you should still back it up with something. Scissor jacks aren't terribly stable, and they're only made of bent sheet metal.

I much prefer a set of rhino ramps to change oil in my car. You can get them for around $50.

You can change the oil with jackstands and a scissor jack if you're strategic about it, and have the right set of jackstands. There is an obvious notch where you're supposed to jack the car up, and I always search for them before I jack anything up. There's a zone for the jack to slide into, and with some practice, you'll get it. I always jack toward the rear of the zone where it's safe to jack, then slide the stand underneath the forward part of the zone.

Whatever jack you use, make sure you are on level hard ground, preferably concrete. Apply your e-brake, and chock the rear wheels. I put a brick in front of and behind both rear tires (4 bricks total). You can buy actual wheel chocks too, I’ve never priced them out before

chocking is important. I have some stoppers that I use. From Aldi. $20 for one.
