Getting Simple Parts These Days

With the advent of the online delivery combined with auto parts stores or big box chains, it seemed like it was super easy to get parts.  But then over the course of the past two years, it seems simple parts, like air filters, are harder and harder to get.  I’ve been helping a friend track down a cabin air filter, Amazon sent the wrong one, Auto Zone says they have it in stock but they don’t, and even the dealer doesn’t have any.

I am curious if the same is happening to you? Over the course of the last two years: Are parts getting harder to get, About the same, Or easier?

By harder, I mean it takes a little more effort and finding and or waiting for something.

By about the same, I mean it take about the same effort to find and/or wait for something than before.

By easier, I mean wherever you go, it is fully stocked, ready to go, even easier than before

I haven't noticed. But slow supply chains are still very much a real problem, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Not to mention the older a vehicle gets the harder it is to get NEW parts.
