Scotty.
I have an 05 Equinox with 225k miles. The cruise control stopped working. I changed the brake switch yet my scan tool shows brakes applied. With this cause the cruise to not engage. Any help?

Yes it will. The brake pedal switch is really a brake pedal position sensor and the cruise control disengages whenever the bcm receives a signal that the brake pedal is depressed.
Sometimes after replacing the BPP sensor you have to do the relearn procedure so the ECM learns where the "brakes off" position is with the new sensor.
There's plenty of stuff on youtube and thru google on how to do the BPP sensor relearn on GMs.
