GM AFM disable.

Hi Scotty.
just watched your video on GM’s AFM.
I have a 2007 Silverado with the L76 6.0. 200,000 kms. No top end problems that I know of but have had friends with major repair bills from these problems.
I have had low oil pressure warnings in the past but have not seen that since switching to full synthetic and fram ultraguard filters on a 10,000 oci. Maybe just clogged screen upstream of the sender.
I’m wondering if doing a AFM deactivation with a reprogram or an obd2 plug is a good long term option for preventing top end failures.
Any advice on this? Do I need to put in the full kit (cam, pump, etc) or is there a software solution that will fix this long term?

Thanks for all your advice!

Please use the search. It's a common question. In fact, someone asked just the other day.

10,000 oci.

terrible idea. Especially with these engines, and your low pressure warnings.

I wouldn't go more than 5k
