Do AFM disabler OBD2 devices really work?

Topic starter

I have a 2017 Silverado 15 with a 5.3 with Active Fuel Management.  I keep reading articles that GM’s Active Fuel Management system will eventually cause the special lifters to fail snd wipeout the camshafts.  They recommend I get an AFM disabler OBD2 device so my engine remains in V8 mode. Do AFM disabler OBD2 devices really work on vehicles with Active Fuel Management to keep it in V8 mode?  If they actually do work, which devices would you recommend?

not really

Sorry, no plugin gadget solutions. Only real fix is hardware delete and computer tune. Lots of people doing it.

None of them. The OBD2 port is designed for diagnostic purposes, not to have some possibly poorly-designed device plugged into it permanently. You would be risking damage to your vehicle's electrical system with any such add-on.
