Scotty,
I own a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.3 V8. The engine employs GMs AFM technology which I’ve read may cause problems with lifters getting stuck. One solution proposed on various YouTube videos is to install an AFM disabler in the trucks OBD port.
My question is, are you familiar with AFM disablers and, if so, do you recommend their usage?
thanks,
Tim
11 years on, might not be worth it. But if you check the search bar above you can find a few opinions.
Good luck
Scotty has mentioned on several occasions that it's not a good idea to leave anything permanently connected to the OBD2 port. That port is intended for temporary diagnostic use, not continuous use by a potentially sketchy aftermarket device that may cause problems with vehicle electronics.
