oil filter adapter leaks

I have a 1996 Jimmy with a couple issues:

It has an oil leak coming from the bottom of the engine where you would screw the oil filter into for the 2 wheel drive model. Mine has the remote oil cooler lines (was replaced with OEM part recently) and the adapter screws in with a gasket where the leak is coming from. The issue here is the gasket is baked on and the front differential is in the way. Is there a way to remove a gasket without taking everything apart? I tired degreasing the gasket and using some RTV. That worked for a year...

The last issue is a stuck ignition. I can not get it to go to the off/locked position. The car can start without a key inserted and will fallout. I thought it might be the lock cylinder and bought a replacement.  That didn't work. I suspect the issue is deeper in the ignition switch...

Your insight will be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
